About David

Veterans Disability Benefits

David Batista, a dedicated associate attorney at Werner, Hoffman, Greig & Garcia, brings a unique blend of civil litigation expertise, scientific knowledge, and a deep commitment to veterans’ advocacy to his role. Specializing in VA disability claims, David is dedicated to guiding veterans through the VA system to secure the benefits they rightfully deserve.

Educational Background

In 2021, he graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law, obtaining his Juris Doctor with a Concentration in Law & Technology. In 2018, he graduated from Cornell University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences with a Concentration in Neurobiology and Behavior. David’s extensive knowledge of both biology and law is invaluable in assessing and understanding the physical and psychological needs of his veteran clients.

Advocating for veterans is a cause close to David’s heart, as his husband is a veteran. During his undergrad, David took an active role in volunteering for the Cornell Undergraduate Veterans Association, which was co-founded by his husband and was the first veterans advocacy group at the university. David had a close hand in the growth of this organization, and early on, this experience strengthened his commitment to serving veterans of all backgrounds.

Professional Experience

David began his legal career by serving as a judicial clerk in the Superior Court of New Jersey, where he gained deep insights into the judicial system. After the completion of his clerkship, he went on to work as a residential real estate attorney, focusing on veteran clients who were navigating the VA loan home-buying process. He gained an appreciation of the difficulty that veterans had to endure to utilize the benefits that they rightfully deserved. After this experience, he pivoted full-time to veterans disability, where he believes he can make the biggest impact for veterans in need.

David is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, and South Carolina. He is also accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
