Jessica has been a licensed attorney since 2023 and specializes in Veteran Disability Benefits, as well as Special Education Law, NYC Child Welfare Law, and Health Insurance Law. She earned her JD from Hofstra University, where she gained valuable experience assisting veterans with disability claims.

Jessica Lord Guyon is driven by a deep commitment to serving marginalized communities, particularly veterans. With a thorough understanding of Veterans Affairs processes and a passion for advocacy, she ensures that those who have served our country receive the benefits and support they deserve. Her dedication extends beyond veterans, encompassing special education, child welfare, and healthcare law, reflecting her unwavering dedication to justice and support for those in need.

Educational Journey

Jessica attended the University of New Haven in Connecticut for undergraduate school, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies with a concentration in Public Affairs in 2019. She then attended law school at Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in Long Island, New York. During that time, she served as a student attorney at her law school’s Veterans Clinic.

Her passion for helping veterans grew here as she assisted veterans with submitting their disability claims to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Jessica has always had an interest in helping marginalized groups of people. During law school,  she was also a legal intern at a law firm that specializes in helping students with disabilities.

Jessica earned her Juris Doctorate in 2022. She officially became licensed in 2023. 

Legal Experience

Upon graduating from law school, Jessica worked as an Agency Attorney at the Administration for Children Services for about six months, representing the agency in child neglect and abuse and other child welfare cases in Family Court. Then, she worked as an Associate Attorney for a Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management Company for a year, disputing complex Health Insurance denials, including Medicaid and Medicare.
