Passion for Service
Edward N. Port has dedicated his career to helping people regain control of their financial futures. After beginning his legal career in the Broward County State Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor, Edward realized that his true passion lay in serving individuals struggling with debt. He transitioned to private practice, where he represented major creditors like Ford Motor Credit, GMAC, and Autonation. However, he soon felt compelled to make a more direct impact on people’s lives by representing those in financial distress. For years now, Edward has focused on guiding clients through bankruptcy and debt relief options. His goal is to help individuals emerge from debt with a stronger financial foundation, offering solutions that are both compassionate and legally sound.
Edward’s mission is to dispel the myth that bankruptcy ruins lives. He takes a personalized, compassionate approach to each client, carefully assessing their unique situation and designing a tailored plan, whether that involves bankruptcy, asset protection, or debt reduction. Edward believes in empowering clients by showing them that bankruptcy laws exist for a reason: to offer a path to financial recovery and a fresh start.
Educational Journey
Edward N. Port began his academic journey at the University of Miami, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Real Estate/Finance in 1990. His passion for the law led him to pursue his Juris Doctor at Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Michigan, where he graduated Cum Laude in 1993. This solid educational foundation in both business and law has equipped Edward with a unique perspective on financial and legal matters, enabling him to offer insightful solutions to his clients.
Legal Experience
Edward’s legal career began at the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, where he worked as a prosecutor. After gaining valuable courtroom experience, he transitioned to the private sector, representing major creditors such as Ford Motor Credit, GMAC, and Autonation. However, his calling to serve individuals led him to shift his focus toward representing people facing financial hardships. Since then, Edward has concentrated on helping clients navigate bankruptcy and debt relief, ensuring that their legal options are fully explored and their rights are protected.
He is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1993 and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida, Edward’s extensive experience in both creditor and consumer rights allows him to provide his clients with well-rounded, effective legal representation.
