Michael Hoffman is a shareholder at Werner, Hoffman, Greig & Garcia, a VA-accredited attorney, and a disabled combat veteran who has dedicated his legal career to representing veterans and their families.

Michael serves on the Board of Directors of the National Organization of Veterans’ Advocates (NOVA) and the Board of Directors of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA). Through these leadership roles, Michael’s commitment to veterans extends beyond representing individual clients. He works alongside other leaders in the veterans community to strengthen advocacy for veterans and improve the systems designed to serve them.

Before becoming an attorney, Michael served in the United States Navy, including a deployment to Afghanistan. During his military career, he was recognized as Blue Jacket Sailor of the Year. His experience as both a servicemember and a disabled veteran gives him a personal understanding of the VA disability system and of what is at stake for veterans and their families when the benefits they earned are denied or incorrectly evaluated.

Today, Michael helps lead the firm’s nationwide Veterans Disability practice, representing veterans throughout the United States before the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Board of Veterans’ Appeals. His practice focuses on helping veterans obtain the disability compensation and benefits they earned through their military service, including cases involving denied service connection, inadequate disability ratings, TDIU, Special Monthly Compensation, and other complex VA disability issues.

Michael’s approach to veterans law is shaped by his own military service. To him, representing veterans is more than an area of legal practice. It is a continuation of the commitment to service that began during his time in the Navy.

Michael earned his Juris Doctor and later an LL.M., combining advanced legal education with the perspective he gained through military service and years of representing veterans before the VA.

Michael Hoffman

Outside of his legal practice and national veterans advocacy, Michael remains active in his local community and serves on the Board of Directors of Parkland Softball. He and his wife, Danielle, are raising their two children, Alex and Isabel, in South Florida.

Whether advocating for an individual veteran, helping lead organizations dedicated to the veterans community, or working to improve veterans advocacy on a broader level, Michael’s mission remains the same: making sure those who served our country receive the benefits, representation, and respect they earned.
