Veterans Disability Benefits

Brendan Garcia is a former U.S. Marine, business owner, lawyer, and dedicated father and husband. He advocates for veterans across the United States, using his talent and skill as a VA-accredited attorney with unwavering commitment. As a shareholder and partner at WHG and its partner firm, VetLaw, Brendan helps injured veterans in all 50 states. Brendan has worked with veterans like himself for decades, first during his service, then at the Department of Veterans Affairs, and finally as a veteran disability benefits lawyer.

Service Record

Brendan’s passion for veterans’ advocacy is rooted in personal experience. Brendan is a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he dedicated four years of active duty from 1999 to 2003.

His service included two deployments to the Middle East, instilling in him a deep understanding of the sacrifices made by those in uniform.

Time At The VA

Brendan’s legal prowless is further enriched by his tenure with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington, D.C.

His roles have been diverse and impactful, from working for the Board of Veterans’ Appeals to earning the prestigious title of Presidential Management Fellow.

In these positions, he gained invaluable insight into the VA’s inner workings, from the Office of General Counsel to the Compensation Service and the Office of Business and Process Integration.

Legal Career

Driven by a belief that he could make a more significant impact from the outside, Brendan made the strategic move to North Carolina where he started his own firm, VetLaw, near one of the VA’s largest Regional Offices.

He grew that firm to be a powerhouse and achieved remarkable success in representing clients before various Regional Offices, the Board of Veterans’ Appeals, and the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

Today, Brendan is a partner at Werner, Hoffman, Greig & Garcia where he continues to use his profound experience and respect for veteran law to help all the service men and women who need help getting the benefits they earned.

Representing The Injured

Brendan Garcia’s story is one of dedication, service, and unwavering support for his fellow veterans. His journey from Marine Corps veteran to a leading veterans’ rights attorney showcases his commitment to justice and his profound respect for those who have served.

His experience reflects a faithful commitment to supporting his fellow veterans, people in his community, and everyday Americans, leveraging his personal insights and professional skills to ensure they receive the benefits and compensation they deserve.

Beyond the courtroom, Brendan is a dedicated family man, married with two children. Although now a North Carolinian, his roots stretch back to Colorado, where he fostered a lifelong passion for skiing. His dedication to personal growth and resilience is evident in his years of training as a Krav Maga practitioner, a journey he approaches with the same tenacity he applies to his professional life.

Matthew Greig, a U.S. Army Captain who served from 2008-2012 and a VA-accredited attorney, specializes in veterans’ disability benefits, personal injury, drugs and devices, and workers’ compensation. Leveraging his military background and private practice experience, he is committed to aiding veterans and the injured, especially in cases involving VA claim denials.

Service Record

Matthew Greig was a Captain in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. He started his career with XVIII Airborne Corps, helping fellow servicemen and women with family, estate, and tax matters. His service took him to Iraq and Afghanistan, where he advised commanders and allied forces on legal matters during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Legal Career

Matthew leverages his firsthand experience of active duty and a deep understanding of operational law to help veterans navigate through complex legal issues.

After six years in the field, Matthew went into private practice with a multinational law firm based out of New Orleans, Louisiana. His heart stayed with his fellow servicemen and women, though. Matthew was also a trustee of the only active VFW post in New Orleans, where he helped veterans with all kinds of legal problems. He even served on a committee to raise funds for restoring a WWII PT Boat.

This led Matthew to start his own firm where he was finally able to help the veterans in New Orleans. Today, he continues to help them through his partnership with Werner, Hoffman, Greig & Garcia.

Serving Veterans

His decorated military career and active participation in community organizations, combined with his passion for assisting fellow veterans, equip him to represent those who have been injured across a range of practice areas, including veterans’ disability benefits, personal injury, and workers’ compensation.

Matthew knows the sting of having a VA claim denied. He’s been there, and that’s why he fights tooth and nail for his clients. He went into law to help veterans find a way forward after a VA denial, and he’s brought that same dedication and passion to our team at Werner, Hoffman, Greig & Garcia.

Transitioning from his military role, Michael honed his skills in the legal field.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science at the University of Central Florida before advancing to The John Marshall Law School in Chicago.

In Chicago, he garnered both his J.D. and an LL.M. in trial advocacy and dispute resolution, all distinguished with honors.

However, his advocacy doesn’t stop there. Michael also represents and fights for those who’ve been hurt or are disabled and need help with their SSI or SSDI benefits. Michael is proficient at government benefits of all kinds, and he can use his skills to make sure you get the benefits you deserve.

Personal Injury, Workers Compensation

Adam Werner is a key player on our team. He works hard as the lead attorney for our personal injury and workers’ compensation department. Adam is one of the founding members and a managing partner at Werner, Hoffman, Greig & Garcia. He started WHG because he believed that there was a better way to help injured citizens and veterans. Now that WHG is a reality, Adam is working every day to make sure his vision is carried out so that he can provide quality legal help to anyone who needs it.

Educational Background

Adam studied political science at the University of Florida before earning his law degree at Nova Southeastern University.

He then started his career at the State Attorney’s Office, handling criminal cases. But soon, he realized he wanted to do more for the everyday people in his community. That’s when he made the switch to civil law.

Adam has earned awards and recognition from many different legal advocate organizations and has active memberships in multiple legal associations.

Talented & Compassionate

Adam Werner excels in personal injury law due to his skill and compassionate approach. Whether it’s a slip on a wet floor that wasn’t marked, a car accident that wasn’t your fault, or a catastrophic brain injury from a semi-truck collision, Adam can handle it.

Adam doesn’t just see cases; he sees people in need, fighting tirelessly to ensure they get the support and compensation they deserve.

His passion for helping people in these challenging times is evident in how he pours his heart into every case, making sure fairness isn’t just an ideal but a reality for his clients.

When it comes to workers’ compensation law, Adam is passionate about helping those who’ve been injured on the job and don’t know where to turn. This area of law is all about making sure workers get their due benefits and support if they’re hurt while working, without the fear of losing their jobs or facing financial ruin.

In simple terms, Adam finds meaning in helping people get the financial assistance they need to pay their bills, pay for medical care, and get compensated for all the time, pain and suffering, and frustration that negligent injuries can cause. At the end of the day, nobody deserves to have their lives ruined because of someone else’s negligence or because the benefits they deserve are being withheld.
