As a former Registered Dietitian, Kristina views the law as a tool to improve public health. In the fall of 2025, Kristina served as a legal extern with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Office of Public Health Law Services, where she engaged in legal epidemiology work, including performing a legal scan of all state and local jurisdictions for reporting requirements for diseases of public health importance. Prior to that, Kristina was a legal intern on the University of Miami School of Law Human Rights Clinic team charged with preparing a submission to the United Nations Permanent Forum on People of African Descent detailing effects of laws and policies on food access for Black communities in Miami-Dade County. She is looking forward to supporting veterans’ wellbeing by securing disability benefits.
